Upgrades & Renovations
There are many possible upgrades to an existing system. Ask us what can be done to your system. Here are some examples.
Converting to Drip
If your system was installed with spray heads it might be time to convert to drip. Drip irrigation offers huge water savings as it offers 90% efficiency while a spray system can only achieve 70% at best. We installed our first all drip installation in 1988 and it is still going strong.
Many of the advantages that drip offers over traditional spray heads include:
- Conserves Water: Drip system apply water directly to the root zone reducing the amount of water lost by over-spraying, evaporation or blown away by wind.
- Waters More Uniformly: Drip tubing is laid down in a grid providing uniform coverage in the soil (where the roots are). Unlike spray heads that get blocked by plant growth that causes extreme wet and dry areas.
- Reduces Use of Water: There isn’t any wasted run-off with drip as it applies water at a slower rate allowing the soil time to absorb the water. Further wasted water due to wind is also eliminated.
- Reduces Risk of Disease: Drip systems eliminate watering the foliage thus minimizing the risk of fungal disease.
- Promotes Healthier Plants: When you water with drip you provide a small but constant source of water to the root zone thus reducing stress and promoting heathy growth.

Convert to a Smart Controller
Smart controllers come in two styles. Wi-Fi or On-Site Weather station. Both types receive weather data and then calculate how much to water. Wi-Fi controllers get the data from local weather stations. On-Site Controllers get their data from a weather station on your property. In either case these controllers are designed to conserve water by automatically adjusting your watering schedule.
